Hijiki seaweed is a very popular diet in Japan. It is known to be rich in dietary fiber and minerals, such as Ca, Mg and Fe. Dietary fiber is good for the intestine and Fe helps to prevent anemia. Hijiki has a good balance of Mg and Ca. But some governments say to avoid consumption of hijiki because it contents higher level of Inorganic arsenic than other seaweed. But Japanese government reported the average hijiki consumption of Japanese people doesn't exceed the tolerable daily intake level.
